On Sunday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh had a crucial meeting with Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan on military preparedness following the deadly April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that left 26 tourists dead. The meeting, which took place at the Defence Minister's house in Delhi, lasted for about 40 minutes.
General Chauhan also attended the meet, where it is reported he briefed his Defence Minister Singh about the ongoing strategy of the army and ongoing preparations against terrorism. Sources claim the CDS briefed Singh regarding the preparedness of Indian army troops.
Aside from this, officers of Border Security Force (BSF) also attended in Delhi to survey defense preparations and army operations.
On the same day, BSF Director General Daljit Singh Chaudhary met the Home Ministry. The talks allegedly covered the counter-terror operations being carried out in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in the wake of the Pahalgam attack.
At the same time, the Pakistani Army continued to ignore the ceasefire agreement along the Line of Control (LoC). On Sunday, for a third consecutive day, Pakistan resorted to unprovoked firing, which was reciprocated by the Indian Army with a forceful retort. The firing occurred on April 26-27 night, when the Indian forces gave a forceful response to the Pakistani provocation.
In a display of strength, the Indian Navy also conducted an efficient anti-ship missile drill on Sunday. The Navy put itself on display as being prepared to battle at any time, anywhere, under any conditions in order to safeguard India's interests at sea.
The exercise, conducted from Indian warships, displayed the Navy's precision striking capability at long ranges, re-envalidating its men and machines' war readiness. A number of successful test firings were conducted throughout the exercise, a reflection of the readiness of the Indian Navy.
