Centre releases Rs 6K cr loan to states to meet GST compensation shortfall

The government had set up a special borrowing window in October 2020 to meet the estimated shortfall of Rs 1.10 lakh crore in revenue arising on account of implementation of GST. The borrowings are being done through this window by the Centre on behalf of the states and UTs. The borrowings have been done in 9 rounds.

However, there is no need to panic as these 62 UK returnees have completed their quarantine period, Public Health Director Niranjan Mishra said. He said that a total of 181 persons had returned from the UK to Odisha between November 30 and December 21. Among them, 119 persons underwent Covid-19 test, and six tested positive for the virus.
