Facebook-owned WhatsApp has now enabled its users to book Covid-19 vaccination slots and locate their nearest vaccination cente. WhatsApp users across the country will now be able to use the chatbot in both English and Hindi by simply sending 'Book Slot' to the WhatsApp number +91 9013151515. Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said "Paving a new era of citizen convenience. Now, book COVID-19 vaccine slots easily on your phone within minutes,".
Here's how you can book vaccine appointment on WhatsApp:
1. Users can now avail of the service by sending ‘Book Slot’ to the WhatsApp number +91 9013151515.
2. Sending this text message will generate a 6-digit one-time password on the respective mobile phone number.
3. From here, users can pick a preferred date and location, based on the pin code and vaccine type provided.
4. Following the confirmation, users can visit the vaccination center at the allotted time slot.
People can also now download vaccine certificates through the MyGov and WhatsApp chatbot, which was launched on August 5; thus far, over 32 lakh certificates have been downloaded by users across the country.
