IndiGo Airlines Diverts Flight with 183 Passengers Due to Bomb Threat, Emergency Landing at Jaipur Airport

An official said the flight was from Kolkata to Jaipur when the pilot received information that there was a bomb on the flight. "The pilot communicated with the air traffic control system and managed to get the flight to make an emergency landing at Jaipur Airport," he added, saying the flight was under investigation.

An IndiGo Airlines flight was diverted to the Jaipur International Airport last Tuesday evening, an hour into the flight, as it had received a bomb threat. The aircraft was carrying 183 passengers.

An official said the flight was from Kolkata to Jaipur when the pilot received information that there was a bomb on the flight. "The pilot communicated with the air traffic control system and managed to get the flight to make an emergency landing at Jaipur Airport," he added, saying the flight was under investigation.

He said that Indigo Airlines flight 6E-394 took off from Kolkata to Jaipur at 2:58 pm with 183 passengers on board. "The plane was to land at Jaipur Airport at 5:19 pm. Shortly before landing, the pilot got information about the bomb in the flight," he said.

He said, the pilot very discreetly took the flight to an emergency landing at the Tango Taxi Area of Jaipur Airport at 5:14 pm. The tango area is where the flight is halted and a little away from the actual runway area.

The official said the CISF staff cordoned off the flight from 100 metres for the investigation. "Currently, there are 183 passengers in the flight, who will be evacuated safely after the investigation is completed," the officials said.

One Dammam to Lucknow flight was forced into an emergency landing here at Jaipur airport on 15th of October after a bomb threat. Similarly, a flight in from Dubai to Jaipur on 19th of October had to make a forced emergency landing after being given a bomb threat.
