HAL Confirms LCA Tejas Delivery to IAF, Says Technical Issues Resolved

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), the manufacturer of the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) 'Tejas,' has assured that deliveries to the Indian Air Force (IAF) will commence soon, now that the technical challenges have been addressed.

This statement comes in response to reports highlighting concerns raised by IAF Chief Air Marshal AP Singh regarding delays in the aircraft's supply.

Addressing the issue at the Aero India 2025 event, HAL Chairman and Managing Director D K Sunil clarified that the delay was not merely due to inefficiencies within the industry.

"There were technical challenges that needed resolution, and those have now been sorted out. The concerns raised by the Air Chief are valid and understandable," Sunil stated while speaking to reporters.

He further explained that discussions have taken place at various levels, and HAL, being a central public sector undertaking, is now set to begin aircraft deliveries.

"We have committed to ensuring all necessary structural components are ready. This has been communicated clearly in multiple meetings at different levels. Production is underway, and as soon as the engines become available, the aircraft will start rolling out. The concerns raised have been acknowledged, and as a team, we are fully committed to delivering the aircraft as soon as possible," he affirmed.

Sunil’s remarks come amid reports that Air Marshal AP Singh had expressed concerns regarding the perceived delay in handing over the Tejas aircraft to the IAF.
