The funeral of General Bipin Rawat, India's first Chief of Defence Staff, and his wife Madhulika Rawat will be held at Brar Square crematorium in Delhi Cantonment today. General Rawat's cremation will be done with full military honors. General Rawat and his wife were among 13 military personnel who were killed in a helicopter crash near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu on December 8. Earlier in the day, the funeral of Brigadier Lakhwinder Singh Lidder, the only other person whose body has been positively identified besides Gen Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat, was done at the Delhi Cantonment.
With 17 gun-salute, India's first CDS's mortal remains consigned to flames at Brar Square. CDS Rawat's last rites were carried by his daughters. Nation Bids farewell to General Bipin Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat with a heavy heart.
