Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, popularly known as Baba Bageshwar, has arrived in Bhore block of Gopalganj's Ramgarh village for a five-day religious program, triggering a political controversy in Bihar.
Explainig his position, Shastri explained that his journey was purely aimed at Hindu unification and that it had nothing to do with politics. In a huge rally, he explained that his intention was to bring religious solidarity to the forefront instead of any political party.
"We have come here not to support any political group but to maintain Hindu unity. We have come here to tell the story of Lord Ram in his own country. Lord Ram's country and Lord Krishna's country are our country. As long as there is breath in our body, we will live and die for Hindus," Shastri asserted.
Against criticism and opposition for being present in Bihar, Shastri initiated a stern counter, declaring, "This land doesn't belong to Babar but to Raghuvar (Lord Ram). This is the country of Ram, Krishna, Subhash Chandra Bose, and the saints. Bihar belongs to us, and we will keep on visiting so long as we are alive."
Discussing religious statistics, Shastri stated fears that Hindus do not have an exclusive nation to call their own.
"There are 65 Islamic countries, more than 95 Christian states, one for Jews, one for Buddhists. If Muslims are expelled, 65 countries will open their doors to accept them. And the same can be said of Christians, for they have 95 countries they can go to. But to where will 150 crore Hindus go if expelled?" he wondered.
Brushing aside political resistance in Bihar, Shastri declared that nothing could stop him from giving religious sermons.
"Those who are against me should first make sure of their own survival. We do not want votes, nor do we bear any ill will towards anyone. But if anyone tries to hinder us, we will continue to come back. We will set up a monastery here, construct houses, and if necessary, even take birth in Bihar again," he declared.
During his visit, Shastri will deliver sermons (Pravachan) on Hanumat Katha and conduct a Divya Darbar.
