Watch | BJP MP Hema Malini hopes Mathura will get grand Krishna temple on lines of Ayodhya, Kashi

BJP's Lok Sabha MP from Mathura on Sunday expresed that her parliamentry constituency will also get a great krishna on the lines of Kashi and Ayodhya. She, however, did not clarify how and where the temple should be built.  She just mentioned it should be made with love. After the ayodhya dispute, the situation seems challenging, she said but also took a firm stand that it should be built in Mathura.

Key Points:

1. "Being the MP of Mathura, which is the birthplace of Lord Krishan who is the symbol of love and affection, I will say that there should be a grand temple. A temple is already there and can be beautified like Modi ji developed Kashi Vishwanath corridor," she said while adressing media persons in Indore.

2. The BJP MP further said that a grand corridor has been inaugrated in varanasi, a grand Ram Temple is being constructed in Ayodhya and now it is time for a grand krishna temple to be built on the janambhoomi(birthplace) of Lord Krishna. She conceded that it was not an easy task but expressed hope that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath will find a solution. "All i have i have to say it should be built with love", she added.

3.Mathura has recently been in news overe the Shahi Idgah mosque dispute. A Mathura court earlier this year had dismissed all 9 nine pleas which sought to remove the 17th century built shahi idgah mosque that is adjacent to the birthplace of Lord Krishna. This dispute had stirred communal tension after some Hindu groups threatened to install an idol of Lord Krishna in the Shahi Idgah Masjid.

4. In early scriptures and Hindu text, Uttar Pradesh's Mathura city is known to be the birthplace of Lord Krishna. It is believed that lord krishna was born there at the Temple complex- in kaseava deo temple built on an underground prison where Lord Krishna was born. Janmashtmi is celebrated in a grand manner at Mathura, the birth place of Lord Krishna.
