Ayodhya Rape Case: Victim’s Abortion and DNA Evidence Collected for Investigation

Sources reveal that the procedure took place at KGMU on Tuesday, and the girl’s condition is reportedly stable. She is expected to be discharged from the hospital soon.

A 12-year-old girl from Ayodhya, who was a victim of a gang rape, recently underwent an abortion at Queen Mary’s Hospital in King George’s Medical University (KGMU) in Lucknow. The foetal tissue has been sent for DNA testing, which will assist law enforcement in their investigation.

Sources reveal that the procedure took place at KGMU on Tuesday, and the girl’s condition is reportedly stable. She is expected to be discharged from the hospital soon.

The investigation will use the DNA results to identify the perpetrators. Recently, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav had called for a DNA test to aid in capturing the culprits.

The girl was transferred from Ayodhya District Hospital to Queen Mary’s Hospital in Lucknow after her condition worsened. She was admitted under heavy police protection on Monday.

The disturbing case has triggered significant outrage. Samajwadi Party leader Moid Khan and his employee Raju Khan are accused of raping the girl, having lured her with a job offer at their bakery, and recording the assault. The crime was uncovered when the girl’s family noticed her abdominal pain and later discovered she was pregnant.

According to the complaint, the girl was abused by the accused over a period of two months and was threatened with death if she reported the abuse.

Moid Khan and Raju Khan have been apprehended by the police. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed the issue in the state Assembly, vowing that all offenders would face justice.

In response to the scandal, local authorities demolished Moid Khan’s bakery and the Food Safety Department conducted a raid, seizing and sealing the bakery’s goods.
