The Union Minister further lashed out at the recent commitments by the National Conference to restore Article 370 as a "dangerous" scheme to go back to twin flags and give strength to militants.

He said the people of J&K deserve a government committed to strengthening Panchayati Raj institutions and local bodies like municipal committees and corporations. He appealed to the voters to opt for prosperity over dynastic politics.

"This election is a movement aimed at ensuring that no party like NC, Congress or PDP ever snatches the rights of the common people in J&K," Reddy added.

In-charge of the J&K elections, the BJP made it a point to underline the party's vision for J&K and said it also reflected the legacy that Jana Sangh founder Syama Prasad Mookerjee sought protection for from dynastic rule and divisive politics.

It is because of the political will of BJP, the militancy in J&K is nearing its end and the region is entering a phase of peace and prosperity, he said. He termed the forthcoming Assembly election as a "movement" for the restoration of dignity of women, West Pakistani refugees, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Paharies, Valmiki Samaj and all denizens of J&K.

Concluding, the Union Minister said the world is now focused on J&K as India shows how peace and development and democracy are taking their roots in the region and asks voters to view the election as a crucial step to secure the rights and future of the citizens in the region.
