Amarinder rubbishes claims of meeting Gandhis

The former chief minister, who quit the Congress party, also said that there was no question of him looking back ever when he had decided to quit the party.

Former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Sunday denied the claims that he would soon meet Congress interim President Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi with the intention of returning to the party.

Amrinder Singh said that the claims made by one of the ministers of the state government are "malicious and mischievous assumptions" and were made with an ulterior motive.

The former chief minister, who quit the Congress party, also said that there was no question of him looking back ever when he had decided to quit the party.

He further said that he was shaping up his party and giving the finishing touches to the organisational set up.

"We are waiting for the registration of our party, Punjab Lok Congress, by the Election Commission of India and the allotment of the party symbol," he added.
