Once he went to his uncle's place where he forgot his book and the next day he had a test in school. He was waiting for his father to return so that he could go along with him to get his book back but his father was too tired of returning to go with him. The young boy then asked his father for any courier company that could deliver his books within a day. The company they searched for was charging 300 rupees. he then realized that there must be many people who are in need of this service.

He then got the idea to start up his own courier company Paper N Parcels. It was founded in 2018 and is operated through a mobile application. The service is operational in a defined area of Mumbai city, the charges they cost are very minimal as compared to other courier ventures. For a parcel of 3kg, the charges start from Rs. 40 and can go up to Rs.180.

“I was thinking about this for days and when I saw a dabbawala in my building, the idea for Papers N Parcel struck. I always marveled at the swiftness and the efficiency of the dabbawala’s food delivery network, and I wondered if the network could be used to allow deliveries of even non-food items," Tilak said in a statement.

The vision behind the startup is to make the lives of people simply by fulfilling their daily based requirements of getting things delivered from one place to another. The company provides door-to-door services for delivering goods. There are approximately 300 dabbawalas connected to his company on a contract basis and not as permanent employees.
