Sonia Syngal is an American-Canadian businesswoman who is currently the chief executive officer (CEO) of GAP Inc., the largest specialty apparel company in the U.S. As of 2022, Sonia Syngal’s net worth is estimated to be in the range of 40-50 million USD. She reportedly makes 20 to 28 million USD in overall compensation a year, according to media reports.

Syngal has been with Gap Inc since 2004. Syngal receives an annual base salary of $1.3 million after her take over as CEO.

GAP Inc focuses on fashion that is smart, purposeful, all-inclusive, and environmentally friendly through brands like Old Navy, Banana Republic, Athleta, and Gap. The company supports the idea of ‘equal pay for equal work’.

In 2021 and 2020 FORTUNE named Syngal to "Fortune’s Most Powerful Women in Business” and in 2019, FORTUNE named Syngal among the "Top 10 Women to Watch" in its Most Powerful Women issue.

She is a member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Board of Governors and serves on The Gap Foundation Board of Trustees.

Syngal has been heading Gap's Old Navy unit since 2016. During her reign, Old Navy expanded its North American presence to more than 1,200 stores in the US, Canada, and Mexico in three years. She has been credited with taking Old Navy from $7billion to $8billion in sales in just three years. The e-commerce site ranked as the fourth largest apparel site in the US during her tenure. The Old Navy unit has been a topic of much speculation after the company scrapped its plan to spin off the unit in January, according to media reports.

She has also earned the status of a powerful mom herself, a recognition awarded by the Working Mother Magazine in 2018.

Syngal is married to Joe McGrath. The couple is blessed with two children.
