Salil Parekh is the interim chief executive officer (CEO) and managing director (MD) of the Indian IT company, Infosys. Parekh succeeded U B Pravin Rao on 2 January 2018, to become the CEO.
In May 2022, the company announced that its Board of Directors has reappointed Salil Parekh as CEO and MD of Infosys from July 1, 2022, to March 31, 2027.
Salil Parekh holds global experience in the IT service industry for over 30 years. He has a strong track record of driving digital transformation for enterprises, executing business turnarounds, and managing successful acquisitions.
Before working at Infosys, Salil was a member of the Group Executive Board at Capgemini. He worked at Capgemini for over 25 years and held several leadership positions. At the company, he was made responsible for overseeing a business cluster comprising Application Services (North America, UK, Asia), Cloud Infrastructure Services, and Sogeti (Technology & Engineering Services Division). Also was responsible for the strategy and execution of these businesses - setting direction and enabling rapid client adoption.

At Capgemini, he held the role of the Chairman of Capgemini’s North America Executive Council. Salil was also the architect of the North America growth and turnaround strategy and was instrumental in setting up their offshoring capabilities.
Other than Capgemini, he was also a Partner at Ernst & Young and widely credited for bringing scale and value to the Indian operations of the consultancy firm.

Born on 5 June 1964, Salil Parekh is a graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT Bombay) in Aeronautical Engineering. He also holds a Master of Engineering degree in Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University. Salil is married to Shaleen S. Parekh.
