Namita Thapar is one of the leading women entrepreneurs in India. She became a household name after she made her presence as a judge in the popular business reality Tv show " Shark Tank". Namita is the Executive Director at Emcure Pharmaceuticals. According to reports, The company has an annual turnover of 6,000 million rupees and is spread over 70 countries across the world. According to media reports, Namita has a net worth of approximately 600 crores(as of 2021).
Namita Thapar was born on March 21 in the year 1977 to Satish Mehta and Bhavana Mehta in Pune, Maharashtra. She did her schooling in Pune and pursued her Bachelors in B.com from Savitribai Phule University, besides her graduation she also completed her Chartered accountant degree from ICAI( Institute of Chartered Accountants of India). After then, She pursued her MBA from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business and graduated from there in 2001.
After completing her education she worked at Guidant Corporation, the USA for six-year. Namita then joined Emcure Pharmaceuticals as a CFO( Chief Financial Officer). The pharmacy company was started by her father in 1983, Namita now stands as an Executive Director at the company.
Emcure Pharmaceuticals is a pharma company that is based in Pune, Maharashtra but is expanded all over the world in 70 countries with over 10,000 employees. It is a multinational Pharmacy company that deals in pills, tablets, and injectables.

In the year 2017, Namita founded Incredible Ventures Ltd. company which was aimed towards building up and teaching young entrepreneurs of India. It is situated in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, and Ahmedabad. The Education company is directed towards the age group 11-18 years old.
In the year 2020, Namita created a youtube channel named Uncondition Yourself with Namita Thapar. The videos uploaded by the channel include talks about the health of women with various health experts, doctors, and patients.
Namita became a popular name in Indian Households after coming up as one of the seven judges in Shark Tank India. The show encourages the young entrepreneurs and startups of India. The judges invest in their preferred startups in exchange for a certain amount of equity in the startups.
Namita aside from her business is a public speaker. She is a part of many initiatives by the government of India like NITI Aayog's ‘Women’s Entrepreneurship Platform’, ‘Digital Health Task Force’ and ‘Champions of Change’. These programs are initiated by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.

Thapar is one of the trustees in the TiE Mumbai Board of Trustees and also a board member at the Regional Advisory Board of Fuqua School of Business. She is an active member of the Young Presidents Organisation.
Namita in an interview mentioned the ways in which she takes time to relax in between the busy schedules, She said
" I relax in three ways- massage, movies, and meditation. I ensure I schedule time for this on a routine basis so I don't reach that breaking point".
Namita was in the Economic Times Women Ahead list in 2017. She was also named in The Economic Times 40 under Forty India's Hottest young business leaders list in 2017. Thapar was awarded the World Women Leadership Congress Super Achiever award.
Namita tied the knot with Vikas Thapar. The couple is blessed with two boys Vir Thapar and Jai Thapar.
Namita looks up to Naina Lal Kidwai and Indra Nooyi as her role models.
She loves to read and travel in her leisure time. She is a big fan of Bollywood films. She is an active social media user and is followed by 521k users on her Instagram page.
