Manish Taneja, is a co-founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nykaa rival, beauty e-commerce startup Purplle.
Originally known as Manash Lifestyle Pvt, Purplle was founded by two IIT engineers, Manish Taneja and Rahul Dash, in 2012. The brand entered the billion-dollar valuation club in June 2022 with its Series E funding round. Paramak Ventures, Premji Invest, Blume Ventures, and Kedaara invested $33 Mn in the Indian startup, which pushed its valuation to $1.1 Bn.
Before Purplle, Manish worked at Fidelity Growth Partners India, as an Analyst - Private Equity. He worked at Fidelity for over 1.5 years.
He started his career as an intern at Ittiam Systems in 2005. Later in 2007, worked as an analyst at Lehman Brothers.
In 2008, Manish joined as an analyst at Avendus Capital, in 2010 he worked as an associate and was responsible for client and investor interaction in pitches and deal processes including raising private equity financing.

The success of Purplle is deeply rooted in the vision of Manish Taneja. He has been one of a kind who never looked back and has the aim to launch an IPO and look ahead to become a listed company.
For the startup, Manish Taneja left a high-paying job to get into the fashion industry. His company, backed by Goldman Sachs Group Inc, is a major competitor of Nykaa. Unlike Nykaa, Purplle's target audience is the middle-class from smaller Indian towns who look for value.
Manish has a Strong background in finance and technology and holds a Bachelor's degree and Master's (Electrical Engineering) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. He did his schooling at Modern Vidya Niketan Senior Secondary School.
