Li Shufu is the founder and chairman of Geely Automobile Holdings, a Chinese multinational automotive company. In the year 2021, Geely Auto was the seventh largest automobile manufacturer in China. Li Shufu founded the company in the year 1986. Shufu’s company produces and sells the vehicles under its own branding. As of March 2023, Lu Shufu has $ 17.6 billion net worth, according to Forbes.
Li Shufu started his career by a photography business taking photos of the tourists an after that he setup his own studio for selling handmade camera accessories. In the year 1986, he founded Geely in the starting it was a refrigerator parts company in which he worked hard and after 8 years, the company began producing motorcycles. In the year 1997, Geely entered in car making business and became China’s first private carmaker. After one year, Li’s company rolled off its first model the Haoqing SRV’s production line.
With the guidance and proper mentorship of Shufu the company started to grow rapidly whereas in year 2000 Geely had a largest number of sale of the motorcycles and cars. In the year 2010, Geely purchased Sweden-based Volvo cars from the Ford Motor Co. whereas in the year 2018 Li announced the agreement with the China Aerospace Science and Industry Corp. for building a new line for supersonic bullet trains. Shufu is also the share holder in Daimler, Lotus and Terrafuga while his company bought shares of Aston Martin. Hurun Report has named Shufu as the 63rd richest person in mainland China for the year 2013.
Li Shufu was born on 25th of June 1963 in Taizhou, Zhejiang, China. After completing his schooling and graduation, Li went to Yanshan University and earned Master’s degree. Li Shufu got married to Wang Li and they 2 children.
