Pan-India sensation Yash, who gained popularity with his performance in blockbuster K.G.F., is all set to start shooting for Ramayana Part 1 in Mumbai next week.
To begin his journey with this mythological saga on a sacred note, Yash will make a trip to the hallowed Shree Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain to take divine blessings.
The movie also features Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor and talented actress Sai Pallavi. As part of his ritual, Yash starts every new film project by visiting a temple, and this visit is significant. His character, Raavan in Ramayana Part 1, happens to be a worshipper of Lord Mahadev, so there is a symbolic element to his temple visit.
Aside from his acting stint, Yash is co-producing the movie under his banner, Monster Mind Creations, in association with Malhota's Prime Focus Studios. As a hands-on co-producer, he has been involved with every stage of this ambitious project, and he is due to start shooting his scenes by the end of April.
Directed by critically acclaimed filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana Part 1 is being touted as one of the most ambitious mythological epics in Indian cinema.
The film, which is being produced by Namit Malhotra, is likely to combine rich storytelling with cutting-edge technology, hoping to redefine the mythological genre for global audiences. Ramayana Part 1 will release on Diwali 2026, followed by Ramayana Part 2 the following year on Diwali 2027.
Furthermore, Yash has one more promising project in the works — Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups. It will be hitting theaters on March 19, 2026.
Toxic is special in the sense that it is the first big-budget Indian film to have been developed, written, and filmed in Kannada and English, with simultaneous dubbing proposed in several languages such as Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and so forth.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, whose poignant and award-winning films have been well-received, Toxic promises to mix cultures and continents in an engaging story.
