Bollywood legend Aamir Khan announced on Thursday that he is in the initial stages of making a big-screen version of the sacred Hindu epic, Mahabharata.
Talking at a special meet-and-greet session, which took place the day before his 60th birthday, Aamir gave an update on the much-awaited project.
We are just beginning with the writing process. We are assembling a team. We are still working out things, so let's see how that goes," the actor said to reporters.
Taking Mahabharata to the movie screens has been a passion of Aamir's for a long time, something he had already declared he was interested in when the opportunity arose. Rumors at one time were that the endeavor would come in the way of an expensive series.
At the event, Aamir also spoke about his love for singing. "In fact, I love singing and I am extremely passionate about singing… For the last two years, I have been learning music from my guruji, Sucheta Bhattacharjee. She is an excellent teacher," he revealed.
Aamir was recently seen in the 2022 movie Laal Singh Chaddha. His next project, Sitaare Zameen Par, is a sequel to his award-winning 2007 film Taare Zameen Par.
