Amidst rumors swirling about Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja's divorce, Sunita has strongly rejected the rumors while confessing that she and their kids share a separate home from the actor.
Even though there have been constant rumors of strain in their relationship, Sunita seems to have quashed the feud news with a viral video of her and Govinda sharing a warm moment at what appears to be a family function.
The video is of a happy celebration where Govinda is feeding cake to Sunita, and she then kisses him. Although this sweet kiss made the headlines in no uncertain terms, most of the netizens were left observing that their kids, Yashvardhan and Tina, looked rather awkward.
Speculation regarding their wedding started after Sunita made a comment in an interview that she and Govinda did not live together.
Sunita had first revealed that she and their kids lived in a different flat, while Govinda lived in a bungalow opposite their apartment. But she later explained that this was done jokingly and reiterated that nothing could come between her and her husband. Addressing the situation further, she explained that when Govinda entered politics, their home frequently received visitors, prompting them to purchase another flat to ensure their daughter's safety. She also noted that since Govinda’s political engagements often ran late into the night, he would sometimes stay at the bungalow.
While the recent video is a pointer towards unity between the duo, a few days back news had surfaced which said Sunita Ahuja's lawyer had asserted she had sought a divorce six months back, though later they reunited.
Another piece of news was made claiming that Sunita had even given a notice for separation to Govinda, sources of which indicated she was steadfast on breaking up while Govinda wanted to save their 37-year-old marriage.
Govinda and Sunita got married in March 1987, and despite all the rumors, their recent show of affection in public suggests that everything may be okay between them.
