On his 40th birthday, Ranveer Singh unveiled the first look of his next film Dhurandhar. In a shocking turn of events, Ranveer cleared out all his earlier Instagram posts, leveraging the social media space only to post the first glimpse of Dhurandhar. The teaser was released at 12:12 pm on Sunday. The production is a joint venture between Jio Studios and B62 Studios, with the screenplay written by Aditya Dhar. The movie is being produced by Aditya Dhar, Jyoti Deshpande, and Lokesh Dhar.

Coming to theatres on December 5, 2025, Dhurandhar is said to be an espionage thriller played out during the politically charged 1970s, jumping between India and Pakistan. Ranveer will feature as a secret agent going through a mission that's high on stakes.

Curiously, the same release date has been reserved by The Raja Saab, Prabhas' earlier-stated horror-fantasy-comedy, creating a big box office showdown.

Yami Gautam, wife of Aditya Dhar, posted the teaser on Instagram and praised his perseverance. "Your tireless hardwork, grit, talent, patience & journey is nothing short of a film in itself!!! This teaser echoes your love for cinema & audience!!! Congratulations my love!!! Proud of you," she posted.

Rumors had previously circulated that Ranveer would play senior intelligence officer Ajit Doval in the film. But the teaser puts an end to that rumor, showing that it's R Madhavan who plays Doval. The movie is reportedly a big-scale, cinematic take on the early days of India's intelligence operations. Jio Studios posted the teaser with the caption: "Uncover the story of unknown men and their unstoppable fight!"

Ranveer Singh was most recently seen in Rohit Shetty's ensemble movie Singham Again, where he reprised his role as ACP Sangram "Simmba" Bhalerao. The movie had an ensemble cast like Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor, and Arjun Kapoor.

After Dhurandhar, Ranveer will reportedly start filming Farhan Akhtar's Don 3 in October 2025. There is also speculation going around regarding the possible sequel of Gully Boy but no confirmation has been issued.
