It all began on the 1st of August, when Dhanush was seen at Mrunal's glitzy birthday party. A now-viral party video catches him fondly holding her hand during what seems to be a quiet moment—setting social media ablaze with dating speculations.
Adding fuel to the rumour, Dhanush was spotted in Mumbai mere hours before at the special preview of Son of Sardaar 2, starring Mrunal opposite Ajay Devgn.
In a widely shared video clip from the event, the duo is spotted deeply engrossed in a hushed conversation, with Mrunal bending forward to whisper something to Dhanush. One trending caption on X challenged outright: "Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur are dating?"
Mixed were the reactions from fans. "Unconfirmed, but there are some hints." Said one. "I think they're just friends," another added. A third sounded uncertain: "Really? I can't believe it.
This is not their first public appearance together. Earlier on July 3, the two actors were spotted at writer-producer Kanika Dhillon's party celebrating Dhanush's new film Tere Ishk Mein. The actors are seen in smiling photos posted by Kanika with the crew of the film.
Kanika captioned the pictures with a warm message: "Our hearts are full! Our OG Raanjhanaa in the house Dhanush – we love you! With friends old and new – big smiles, bigger hearts! Grateful for the memories."
