The latest project of filmmaker Anubhav Sinha is "IC814 The Kandahar Hijack", which is coming out on Netflix on August 29. It stars Vijay Varma, Dia Mirza, and Naseeruddin Shah in key roles in this riveting drama.
The series will also narrate the sensational hijacking of an Indian Airlines Airbus on 24 December 1999, while flying from Nepal to New Delhi with 188 passengers on board. This episode remains the longest aviation hijack in Indian history.
Netflix recently took to Instagram and posted a teaser that gave a glimpse of the series while confirming its release date. The caption of the teaser reads, "188 passengers held hostage, and the entire nation held at gunpoint. Based on real events – IC814: The Kandahar Hijack, a limited series, premieres on August 29, exclusively on Netflix."
Helmed by Sinha, known for "Mulk," "Article 15," and "Thappad," it also features Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra, Arvind Swamy, and Patralekha.
Vijay Varma was last seen in "Murder Mubarak," Dia Mirza, 42, appeared in "Dhak Dhak," and Naseeruddin Shah, 74, recently featured in the series "Showtime.".
