Tom Hardy's 'Venom 3' has undergone a release date shift, now slated for November 8, 2024. This update coincides with the approval of a tentative deal by SAG-AFTRA, bringing an end to the 118-day actors' strike.
Originally scheduled for July 12, 2024, the untitled third installment of the 'Venom' series is helmed by Kelly Marcel, the writer and producer of the first two 'Venom' movies. The screenplay, crafted by Marcel, promises a new superhero adventure.
Collaborating with Hardy, Marcel developed the storyline for 'Venom 3,' also contributing to its production alongside Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, and Hutch Parker.
Hardy's previous entries in the comic book realm, 'Venom' (2018) and 'Venom: Let There Be Carnage' (2021), both premiered in early October. The first film, directed by Ruben Fleischer, amassed $856 million globally, while the Andy Serkis-helmed 'Let There Be Carnage,' impacted by the pandemic, still earned $502 million worldwide. Notably, 'Let There Be Carnage' secured a $90 million U.S. debut, surpassing the $80 million opening of 'Venom' under non-pandemic circumstances.
Sony officially confirmed the third movie in the Tom Hardy-led franchise during CinemaCon in 2022. While Hardy reprises his role as the formidable Venom, the intricacies of the film's plot remain tightly under wraps.
Eddie Brock and Venom last made an appearance in the credits sequence of 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' in 2021. However, the potential inclusion of characters from Sony's Universe of Marvel Characters, including Morbius, Kraven the Hunter, and Madame Web, in 'Venom 3' adds an air of mystery and anticipation to the upcoming installment.
