Vaani Kapoor Teams Up with Ajay Devgn for 'Raid 2'

Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, who also helmed the first installment, "Raid 2" is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak under T-Series and Panorama Studios banners. The film will be extensively shot in Mumbai, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan.

The shooting for "Raid 2" commenced in Mumbai on January 6, with actor Ravi Teja giving the clap for the mahurat shot. Vaani Kapoor is set to play the lead role opposite Ajay Devgn in this highly anticipated sequel. Ajay Devgn shared a picture from the mahurat shot on Instagram, expressing excitement about the official start of "Raid 2." In the caption, he thanked Ravi Teja for gracing the occasion. The film is scheduled for theatrical release on November 15.

The original "Raid," released in 2018, featured Ajay Devgn, Saurabh Shukla, and Ileana D'Cruz. It was based on a real-life raid conducted by the officers of the Income Tax Department in the 1980s, with Ileana portraying Ajay's wife in the film.

Vaani Kapoor, who plays the lead opposite Ajay Devgn in "Raid 2," is also gearing up for other projects. She will headline Maddock Films' "Sarvagunn Sampanna," set in the 90s, where Vaani will portray the role of a porn star lookalike. The film promises a laughter-filled ride with a unique storyline blending comedy and social commentary. Additionally, Vaani has a gritty crime thriller, "Mandala Murders," under Yash Raj Films' OTT banner.
