In a surprising turn of events, Tom is working alongside Paramount on the upcoming ‘Top Gun’ film, even after recently finalizing a deal with Warner Brothers. A few days ago, Tom and Warner Brothers' chief David Zaslav announced a partnership, with the ‘Mission: Impossible’ star taking on a pivotal role as a key producer for multiple franchise films under the iconic film studio.
According to Mirror.co.uk, despite his new alliance with Warner Brothers, Tom is pushing forward with a new ‘Top Gun’ movie with Paramount. The project is currently in the hands of Maverick writer Ehren Kruger, who is crafting the script. The third installment is expected to see the return of familiar faces such as Miles Teller and Glen Powell.
Although news of the ‘Top Gun’ sequel has recently surfaced, ‘The Hollywood Reporter’ reveals that the project has been quietly in development since late fall. However, fans anticipating the release should exercise patience, as Tom Cruise is currently immersed in filming the 8th ‘Mission: Impossible’ movie, slated for release in May 2025.
