Helmed by Vivek Agnihotri, The Kashmir Files has been garnering applause and appreciation for all the right reasons. The movies portraying the heart-wrenching narrative of the pain, suffering, struggle, and trauma of Kashmiri pandits, are based on the real-life story. The storyline of the movie is weaved based on the video interviews of the first-generation victims of The Kashmir Genocide of the Kashmiri Pandit Community. Recently, reports were surfacing on the web claiming that the movie got an A certificate from CBFC without a cut. But today, while clearing the air, Vivek Agnihotri who is part of CBFC’s board revealed that the movie did get an ‘A’ certificate but with 7 minor cuts. Here we bring you the list of 7 scenes that were cut from Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files.
1. There was a scene in the movie, which captured the national flag of India on the ground. Showing respect towards Tricolour, the scene is now cut from the movie.
2. Similarly, there was another scene that showed the photo of an ex-Prime Minister of India in a dreaded terrorist’s house. Now it is also cut from the movie.
3. Earlier, the movie showed the name of the TV media channel but now because of the fear of defaming it is also cut from the movie.
4. In another scene of the movie, the word ‘Rape’ was seen written on a university floor and wall poster at three places. The word is now blurred in the movie.
5. The words ‘Pandit’ and ‘Hindu’ were deleted wherever these terms were associated with cuss words.
6. In the movie, there was a term called ‘Disco CM’ which is now deleted or muted in some scenes of the movie.
7. Lastly, the name of the university, shown in the film, has been changed from JNU to ANU.
