The 72nd edition of the Miss World beauty contest will be organized in Telangana from May 7 to May 31, the organisers declared on Wednesday.
The grand finale, in addition to both the opening and closing ceremonies, will take place in Hyderabad as per a statement.
The official confirmation was done by Julia Morley, CEO and Chairperson of Miss World Limited, and Smita Sabharwal, Secretary to the Government of Telangana, in charge of the Tourism, Culture, Heritage, and Youth Affairs Department.
Morley spoke of her enthusiasm for the pageant to be hosted in Telangana, a state she commended for its vibrant culture, innovation, and warmth.
“Partnering with the Telangana government allows us to showcase its incredible heritage and dynamic growth to a global audience. This collaboration is not just about hosting the Miss World Festival; it’s about empowering communities, celebrating diversity, and making a lasting impact through our shared commitment to beauty with a purpose,” Morley stated.
Sabharwal expressed her pride that Telangana is hosting Miss World 2025, terming the state as a colorful representation of authentic beauty.
"Telangana is a land where each festival is a pageant of joy, where each hand that weaves speaks a tale of skill and dedication—this is Telangana, an epitome of what beauty stands for. This platform will reflect the rich handloom heritage, breathtaking locations, delectable cuisine, arts, and crafts of eternal Telangana," she further said.
The Miss World pageant will host representatives from more than 120 nations and territories, all competing for the coveted crown while supporting worthwhile causes that resonate with the Miss World Organization's "Beauty with a Purpose" philosophy, the press release stated.
Contestants will be in Telangana on May 7, and the grand finale, where current Miss World Krystyna Pyszkova of Czechia will crown her successor, will be held in Hyderabad on May 31.
