The feature provided fans with a new preview of what is to be expected, and it didn't escape notice from Swifties who have been anxiously waiting since the album went into re-recording eligibility in November 2022, reports Variety.

The next project now represents the longest period of time between her re-recordings. Swift's most recent re-release, 1989 (Taylor's Version), released in October 2023. In addition to her debut album self-titled, Taylor Swift (Taylor's Version), Reputation is one of the remaining two albums still to be re-recorded from her Big Machine Records catalog.

In a 2023 interview with Time, Swift spoke of returning to Reputation and referred to the unreleased vault tracks as "fire." She characterized the album as "a goth-punk moment of female outrage at having been gaslit by a whole social hierarchy," and then said, "I think a lot of people look at it and they're just like, sick snakes and strobe lights."

Reports have grown stronger that Swift may officially confirm Reputation (Taylor's Version) during the next American Music Awards ceremony on May 26. Even more eagle-eyed fans noticed a possible hint on her official merchandise site, where the home page was just organized into Apparel, Music, Accessories, and Sale—an arrangement which neatly reads out "AMAs."

Released in November 2017, Reputation was a striking, darker departure for Swift's music and persona. The album produced numerous number one singles, such as "Look What You Made Me Do," ".Ready For It?", "End Game," "Gorgeous," and "Delicate."

As Swift keeps revisiting her past work through a contemporary perspective, fans are anxiously awaiting her next step—particularly since the stage now seems ready for Reputation (Taylor's Version) to finally take its big debut.
