Reports have claimed that pop star Taylor Swift and NFL player Travis Kelce have already privately exchanged vows ahead of a larger, high-profile celebration expected at Madison Square Garden, according to multiple sources cited by Page Six.
The couple is said to have held a quiet ceremony attended only by close family and friends, even as preparations continue for a much larger event reportedly scheduled for Friday at the New York venue, with a rehearsal dinner for around 100 guests planned a day earlier on Thursday. “They are already married," a source close to the couple was quoted as saying by the outlet.
An industry insider based in Nashville also told Page Six that there has been growing speculation in the city that the pair have already completed the legal formalities of marriage.
However, officials at the Manhattan City Clerk’s Office reportedly stated that no marriage licence issued to Swift had been recorded in recent days, adding that such filings would normally be visible to them. Under New York law, a marriage licence costs 35 dollars, remains valid for 60 days, and requires a 24-hour waiting period before a ceremony, unless a judicial waiver is granted.
Another source suggested the private ceremony may have taken place in Tennessee, a state closely associated with Swift, who moved there at age 14 to pursue songwriting, according to Page Six.
Flight-tracking data cited by the outlet reportedly indicated that Swift’s private jet recently made several stops, travelling from Nashville to Philadelphia—home of Kelce’s father Ed and brother Jason Kelce—before continuing to Tampa, where Swift’s father Scott Swift resides, and then returning to Nashville. The aircraft reportedly remained there until June 30 before heading back to New York City.
Meanwhile, preparations at Madison Square Garden are said to be underway, with the venue being transformed for the celebrations. The event is expected to feature performances by Stevie Nicks and Kenny Chesney, while Ed Sheeran is also rumoured to appear. Former Beatle Paul McCartney is expected to attend, according to Page Six.
The venue has reportedly been styled with a garden-inspired theme, with catering arranged from some of Swift’s preferred New York restaurants, including Sartiano’s.
