Actress Tamanna Bhatia, who is under Enforcement Directorate (ED) scanner in connection with the probe into a money laundering case linked to the 'HPZ Token' mobile app, visited Kamakhya Temple here on Friday and took blessings.
Cladded in white Kurta Salwar, the actress was seen visiting the temple atop Nilachal Hills in the city with her mother and father.
She was grilled by Enforcement Directorate officials in Guwahati on Thursday for long hours. Bhatia was said to have spent her time staying in the city along with her family in a luxury hotel, and according to sources, she might be called for another round of questioning by the central agency.
The 'HPZ Token' mobile application is said to have duped many investors by Bitcoins mining and other cryptocurrencies.
The statement of the 34-year-old actress was recorded at its zonal office here in accordance with the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
According to sources, there were no "incriminating" accusations against Bhatia, who is alleged to have accepted money for making a "celebrity appearance" at an app company event.
She was also called earlier but she preferred to appear on Thursday instead of responding to the summons due to "job obligations".
Actress Tamanna Bhatia, 43, appeared at the ED office in Guwahati on Thursday afternoon, accompanied by her mother and father.
In its charge sheet in March in the matter, ED named 299 entities as accused, including 76 Chinese-controlled firms with 10 Chinese-origin directors and two entities controlled by other "foreign persons".
The money laundering case follows a formal complaint lodged with the Kohima Police by its cybercrime unit after charging several persons for cheating "gullible" investors promising them enormous profits from mining Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
The police alleged that the accused "cheated" the investors through the mobile application 'HPZ Token'.
According to media reports, various "shell entities" of "dummy" directors had opened a bank account as well as merchant IDs to carry out the "layering" of proceeds of crime.
The fund is alleged to have "fraudulently" applied for investing in Bitcoin mining as well as some unlawful online gambling and betting.
As part of this case, the ED executed a nationwide search operation that resulted in the seizure of immovable assets and deposits to the tune of Rs 455 crore.
Born on December of 1989, Tamannaah Bhatia is known for her role in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi cinemas.
