Somy Ali, an ex-girlfriend of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, somewhat shockingly reached out to Lawrence Bishnoi on Thursday for a Zoom call. Bishnoi is accused of killing the NCP leader Baba Siddique and had publicly issued a statement to "everyone who helps Salman Khan."
Women's rights activist, actress Somy broke up with Salman in 1999, and she went to the US from Mumbai, where she has stayed since. Although she keeps proclaiming her disastrous relationship with the actor, she is seen standing up for him numerous times.
She took to Instagram and reached out to Lawrence Bishnoi, who is lodged at Sabarmati Central Jail. In her social media post, Somy wrote a "direct message to Lawrence Bishnoi," and while addressing him as "bhai," she invited him to come on a Zoom call.
""Namaste, Lawrence bhai, suna bhi hai aur dekha bhi ke aap jail se bhi Zoom calls kar rahe ho, toh mujhe aapse kuch baatain karne hain. Kripya karke mujhe bataye ke yeh kaise ho sakta hai? (Greetings, Lawrence brother. I've heard and seen that you do Zoom calls, even from jail. So I want to discuss a few things with you. Please tell me how that can be done?) she wrote to Lawrence.
Talking about Rajasthan as her favourite place in the world, Somy said she would love to visit Bishnoi's temple and attend a prayer there. But "first Zoom call ho jaye, aur kuch baatain teh ho jaye (let's get done with the Zoom call first)".
She further also said that the conversation was in his interest and requested the gangster to share his number with her.
This is not the first time that Somy has turned towards the Bishnoi community to "forget and move on" from Salman Khan's incident of 1998.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Somy said, "If you are trying to kill someone or shooting bullets on him, then you are crossing the line. I don't believe in hunting as a sport, but this incident occurred such a long back.".
She further added, "Salman was much younger in 1998. I request the head of the Bishnoi tribe to forget about it and let go. If Salman has done any wrong, I beg pardon on his behalf, and forgive him."
