Supreme Court Denies Passport Release Plea of Ranveer Allahbadia and Ashish Chanchlani Amid ‘India's Got Latent’ Controversy

However, the court put their request on hold, saying that it would reconsider the case only once the ongoing investigation is finished. In the meantime, Apoorva Mukhija has made a major move by removing all the posts from her Instagram account.

The India's Got Latent scandal, which initially broke in February 2025, refuses to fade into the background. In a new twist, popular YouTubers Ranveer Allahbadia and Ashish Chanchlani, two of the main accused, approached the Supreme Court for the return of their passports.

However, the court put their request on hold, saying that it would reconsider the case only once the ongoing investigation is finished. In the meantime, Apoorva Mukhija has made a major move by removing all the posts from her Instagram account.

The Supreme Court clarified, as per an NDTV report, that it would examine the petitions of Allahbadia and Chanchlani after the investigation regarding India's Got Latent comes to a close. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta stated that their appeal could be examined within two weeks. Ranveer presented his submission on the grounds that not being able to travel abroad for his performances was impacting his livelihood.

However, the court remained firm, stating that permitting Allahbadia to travel abroad at this stage could potentially hinder the investigation, leading to the rejection of his request. Likewise, Ashish Chanchlani’s plea for passport release was also turned down. Earlier this month, the Supreme Court granted Allahbadia permission to resume his podcast but instructed him to uphold "morality and decency" in his content.

In the midst of the surrounding controversy, accused in the case Apoorva Mukhija wiped her Instagram feed clean. The Rebel Kid, as she is commonly known, deleted all of her posts, including those for endorsing brands, bringing her following total to zero. Mukhija had kept away from social media for the most part since India's Got Latent uproar on February 10. On March 14, she wrote a cryptic status in her broadcast channel, "Diwaaron ke bhi kaan hote hain" (Even walls have ears). Now, she has deleted all evidence of her existence on Instagram.

After the controversy, all episodes of India's Got Latent were removed from YouTube.
