Sunny Deol is back on the silver screen with a bang, and people are turning up in good numbers to see his high-octane return. His new action drama, Jaat, hit theaters on Thursday, April 10, and has made a positive impact at the box office since day one.
The movie opened with a solid opening collection of ₹9.5 crore on Day 1, marking an encouraging beginning—especially in mass belts and single-screen theatres. Though it didn't exactly scale the heights of Gadar 2's blockbuster opening figure of ₹40.1 crore on Day 1, Jaat is nicely forging its own path.
As per initial estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk, the film earned another ₹3.88 crore on Friday. This brings the total domestic collection of the film to ₹13.38 crore in a mere two days. These tallies, estimated at around 7 PM on April 11, could get revised as updated data comes out.
When it comes to word-of-mouth and buzz, Jaat has been able to beat Salman Khan's Sikandar, a more buzzed-about release after its opening. Still, it is behind Good Bad Ugly, the Tamil action entertainer Ajith Kumar, which registered a deafening opening with ₹28.5 crore.
A Mix of Power-Packed Action and Emotion
Directed by Gopichand Malineni, Jaat has Sunny Deol facing off a powerful opponent played by Randeep Hooda, who is cast as the dreaded Rana Tunga. The movie also has a cast of characters comprising Regina Cassandra, Saiyami Kher, Vineet Kumar Singh, Ramya Krishnan, Babloo Prithiveeraj, and Jagapathi Babu in important roles.
Produced by production studios Mythri Movie Makers, Zee Studios, and People Media Factory, Jaat delivers a thrilling combination of explosive action and emotional drama. The film is currently being screened in India's theatres in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil.
With the weekend in top gear, now the focus turns to how Jaat maintains its performance and whether it can further gain from this strong opening thrust.
