Horror comedy Stree 2, headlined by Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, holds well on its sixth Monday after having had a robust weekend. It is indeed reassuring that the strong hold the film has released on the domestic box office especially in its last days before the Devara storm hits the ticket counters.
The newly released Shraddha Kapoor film has made Rs 307.80 crore in its opening week, Rs 145.80 crore in its second week, Rs 72.83 crore in its third week, Rs 37.75 crore in its fourth week, and Rs 25.72 crore in its fifth week, respectively.
Devara: Part 1 will mark the entry of Janhvi Kapoor in the world of Telugu cinema and see a theatrical release across the globe on September 27.
Stree 2 raked Rs 5.20 crore on its sixth Friday, Rs 3.80 crore on its sixth Saturday, Rs 5.32 crore on its sixth Sunday, and Rs 1.50 crore on its sixth Monday. The India box office collection of the film was at Rs 605.72 crore.
"While the weekend collections remained strong for Stree 2, it still dominated the box office on the sixth Monday. Ahead, it will face its biggest competitor this Friday:Devara. The weekend will give a better picture of lifetime biz prospects, film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh said.".
Stree 2 is under the Maddock Supernatural Universe, which includes films like Stree (2018), Roohi (2021), Bhediya (2022), and Munjya (2024). The film, headed by Amar Kaushik, is a sequel to the horror comedy hit in 2018, Stree.
The movie depicts the story of Vicky and all of his friends who are working to remove horror from the town of Chanderi by Sarkata. Some supporting actors of this movie include Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana.
Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Amar Kaushik have done some special cameos in the movie. Stree 2 has released in the theatres of the whole world on this August 15 this year.
