Sonu Nigam Requests Politicians to Avoid Attending Performances if They Plan to Leave Midway

Sonu later took to his Instagram to share a video in which he can be seen taking a sarcastic dig at politicians for insulting artists and performers. "While I was performing, I saw that the CM and other dignitaries got up and left the show midway.

Iconic singer Sonu Nigam performed at the Rising Rajasthan event in Jaipur on Monday evening, graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and other cabinet ministers. However, the singer was left with a bitter after-taste as the CM and other ministers left his concert midway while he was still performing on stage.

Sonu later took to his Instagram to share a video in which he can be seen taking a sarcastic dig at politicians for insulting artists and performers. "While I was performing, I saw that the CM and other dignitaries got up and left the show midway.

Seeing them go, the other delegates who had come from different parts of the world also walked out. How will people from foreign countries appreciate Indian artists if our own people don't do it?" he questioned.

He further added, "I just request all politicians that if you want to leave a show midway then don't come there in the first place or leave before the concert even starts. It is really shameless to leave when someone is performing on stage and it is an insult for Saraswati.

Sonu said that he was informed about the incident by the people who attended his concert and sent him messages saying that he should not perform for politicians where he was not treated with respect. "I know you all are busy, you have a lot of work and you should not waste your time by attending such shows, so please leave before the performance begins," he concluded.

As Sonu shared the video, netizens and other artists came to his support and lauded him for voicing out the issue. "Only you have the guts to speak on such sensitive things," a user wrote, while another said, "The one and only who can take a stand."
