After doing the legal formalities for their civil marriage, Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal stepped into the Sunday night wedding reception in style. Resplendent in the custom-made red 'chand boota' brocade Raw Mango sari, decked with sindoor all across her forehead, Sonakshi posed graciously for the paparazzi alongside her husband, Zaheer, who complemented perfectly in an all-white attire. The famous restaurant Bastian in Mumbai, famous for its modern and Asian cuisine, was the venue for the reception.
In a very jovial atmosphere, the couple obliged the photographers with group pictures, joined later by Sonakshi's father, veteran Bollywood actor and newly-elected Trinamool Congress MP Shatrughan Sinha, with his wife Poonam. A steady stream of celebrities came visiting, starting with timeless stars like Saira Bano and Rekha, adding more to the celebratory mood in the evening.
Her 'Heeramandi' co-star Aditi Rao Hydari arrived early along with her fiancé Siddharth, a well-known South Indian actor. Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal also came with Sanjeed Shaikh, while Manisha Koirala sent best wishes due to other commitments.
Aayush Sharma, Zaheer's co-star from 'Ruslaan' and Salman Khan's brother-in-law, mingled with the early arrivals like Vidya Balan with Siddharth Roy Kapur, Huma Qureishi with Saqib Saleem, and Tabu, who playfully winked at the photographers. Anil Kapoor, Chunky Panday, Raveena Tandon, and Kajol—whose dress sparked lively discussions on social media—were also present and added to the evening's star-studded quotient.
The high point of the evening was when Yo Yo Honey Singh arrived looking dapper in an electric blue jacket, prompting a frenzy among photographers and eliciting impromptu performance requests. So, with all invited guests strictly being on the guest list, there was a well-thought-out décor, based on a black and red colour scheme, complete details of which showed in the profusion of bright red flowers and the seen-it-all red carpet laid out earlier that day.
Sonakshi refers to Zaheer as her 'personal psycho,' that naturally has encapsulated their seven-year friendship that Salman Khan introduced her to on the film set of 'Notebook' in 2017. Both actors began their careers in Bollywood by being launched, guided by Salman, where Sonakshi was launched in 'Dabbang' in 2010 and Zaheer with 'Notebook' opposite Pranutan Bahl in 2019.
The evening ended with DJ Ganesh's mix of Bollywood hits that kept one and all on their toes till late into the night, thus really making Sonakshi and Zaheer's wedding reception memorable.
