Actor Sidharth Malhotra expressed his eagerness to be a part of Rohit Shetty's cop universe, and his wish has come true with the upcoming OTT series "Indian Police Force." The seven-part action series, set to debut on Prime Video on January 19, marks the collaboration between Shetty and Malhotra in the realm of long-format storytelling.
Malhotra, at the trailer launch event, praised Shetty for his prowess in presenting heroes in Hindi cinema, especially in the action genre. He expressed his admiration for Shetty's ability to portray heroes in a masculine, simple, and effective manner. The actor mentioned that he had been eager to be part of Shetty's cop universe and found the opportunity with "Indian Police Force."
The series, set in Shetty's cinematic universe that began with "Singham" in 2011, is described as nothing short of Hindi cinema entertainment. Despite being a series on OTT, Malhotra emphasized that it encompasses all the elements of a feature film.
"Indian Police Force" also stars Shilpa Shetty and Vivek Oberoi, and it follows the officers of Delhi Police as they attempt to apprehend the masterminds behind a series of bomb blasts. Malhotra described his experience on the show as "warm and refreshing," noting the homely atmosphere on the sets.
Shilpa Shetty, who plays the character Tara Shetty, described her role as gritty, compassionate, and selfless. She expressed her excitement about working with Rohit Shetty and the opportunity to portray a cop in his cop universe.
Rohit Shetty, the creator and co-director of the series along with Sushwanth Prakash, has assembled a talented cast, including Shweta Tiwari, Nikitin Dheer, Rituraj Singh, Mukesh Rishi, and Lalit Parimoo in pivotal roles. "Indian Police Force" promises to be a compelling addition to Shetty's successful cop universe.
