Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor expressed his eagerness to work on a love story following his 2019 blockbuster "Kabir Singh." The actor, known for successful romantic films like "Ishq Vishq," "Vivah," and "Jab We Met," took time to find a fresh and compelling story in the romance genre before choosing his next project.
Shahid Kapoor's upcoming film is the romantic comedy "Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya," where he is paired opposite Kriti Sanon. The actor mentioned that he had been missing doing light and fun films, but the romance genre is challenging to crack. He shared that he listens to around ten scripts a month, emphasizing the difficulty in finding scripts that offer something new to the audience.
Directed by first-time filmmakers Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah, "Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya" is described as an "impossible love story." Shahid Kapoor revealed that the film is his response to the question of what he can bring to a love story. After portraying an intense character in "Kabir Singh," he was looking for a unique and untold love story, and this film fit the bill.
The actor acknowledged the challenge of love stories, saying, "Love stories are the most difficult genre to do." The film's story revolves around Shahid Kapoor's character falling in love and deciding to marry a robot, played by Kriti Sanon.
"Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya" is produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films and features Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon in lead roles. The film is set to release in theaters on February 9.
