Actress Rashami Desai has strongly reacted to the violence inflicted upon a Hindu girl in Bangladesh following the resignation of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on August 5.
She shared a video on her Instagram Stories from a news website in which some persons can be visibly seen battering a Hindu girl horrifyingly and at the last, dumping her into a pond. Rashami's caption read, "Why humans are trying to become God or demon. Jabke there lot to face in life. Karma comes back," with several broken heart emojis.
Attacks on the Hindu community in Bangladesh started increasing on August 5. The Bangladesh Jatiya Hindu Mohajot (BJHM), which is an alliance of 23 religious groups, stated that Hindu households faced violence and vandalism at 278 places in 48 districts. The leaders of the alliance also said that the Hindus living in this country are too scared; in several cases, they are even threatened to leave Bangladesh.
Assamese-born actress Rashami Desai started her acting career with the Assamese-language film 'Kanyadaan' in 2002. She was introduced to Bollywood in 2004 through the film 'Yeh Lamhe Judaai Ke', a romantic mystery with Shah Rukh Khan and Raveena Tandon.
She has also starred in Bhojpuri movies such as 'Kab Hoi Gawna Hamar', 'Sohagan Bana Da Sajana Hamaar', 'Nadiya Ke Teer', 'Gazab Bhail Rama', and 'Kangna Khanke Piya Ke Angna', among others.
She started her television career with 'Ravan', a mythological drama that was aired in 2006 where she played Queen Mandodari. She came into prominence in TV through the dual role given to her in 'Pari Hoon Main' in the year 2008. Rashami became a part of various reality shows like 'Zara Nachke Dikha 2', 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5', 'Comedy Ka Maha Muqabala', 'Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 6', 'Nach Baliye 7', 'Bigg Boss 13', and 'Bigg Boss 15'.
Her recently been seen in 'Entertainment Ki Raat Housefull' and 'JNU: Jahangir National University'.
