Rajinikanth Defends Daughter Aishwarya's Comment on Him Being Labeled 'Sanghi'

Renowned Tamil actor Rajinikanth, gearing up for the much-anticipated release of his upcoming film, 'Lal Salaam,' has come forward to defend his daughter, Aishwarya Rajinikanth, against allegations of labeling him as a "Sanghi."

In a media interaction, the megastar clarified that his daughter did not intend to use the term 'Sanghi' in a derogatory manner. He emphasized that Aishwarya never portrayed the term as negative and highlighted her concern about why he was being associated with the term when his focus is on spirituality.

Addressing the media, Rajinikanth stated, "My daughter never said that Sanghi [the term] was a bad word. She questioned why her father was being branded that way when he is into spirituality."

Aishwarya had earlier addressed the issue at the audio launch of 'Lal Salaam' in Chennai, expressing her frustration with social media posts depicting her father as a "Sanghi." She admitted to being unfamiliar with the term and, upon learning its meaning as someone supporting a particular political party, clarified that Rajinikanth does not align with such political affiliations. She affirmed, "If he was, he wouldn't have done a film like 'Lal Salaam.'"
