Prime Video Confirms Season 3 of 'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power'

The forthcoming season is already in pre-production and will start filming this spring at Shepperton Studios in the UK, the show's new home.

Prime Video has officially confirmed that The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will return for season three. The news was broken on Thursday, another chapter in the popular fantasy series.

Amazon MGM Studios' head of television Vernon Sanders hailed the renewal of the series, praising the creative team's aggressive storytelling.

"The extraordinary vision of our brilliant team keeps audiences across the globe engaged. We can't wait to explore further the epic stories that are the hallmark of Middle-earth and transport our worldwide viewers on yet another enthralling journey," Sanders said.

Charlotte Brändström, who was co-executive producer and director of the first two seasons, will take on the executive producer and director position for season three. She will be joined by Sanaa Hamri, who directed a number of episodes in season two, and veteran director Stefan Schwartz, who is joining the show for the first time.

Since its release, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has been a phenomenal success with an enormous and loyal international fan base. The series has been uniformly praised for its grand vision, outstanding performances, and top-level production.
