Brainchild by Deepak Kumar Mishra and scripted by Chandan Kumar, 'Panchayat' is a delightful eight-episode comedy-drama set in the rustic charm of rural India.

'Panchayat' follows the story of Abhishek (played by Jitendra Kumar) getting appointed as the Secretary of Gram Panchayat in the picturesque village of Phulera. Having lost faith in village life, Abhishek takes up the task of getting himself ready for competitive exams in the quiet ambiance of Panchayat office.

Through the meandering journey, Abhishek finds himself in ever-closer friendships with the Pradhan-Pati (Raghubir Yadav), the village Pradhan (Neena Gupta), Prahlad Cha (Faisal Malik), and Vikas, the Office Assistant of Gram Panchayat (Chandan Roy).

The second season saw the tragic development of a plot that left the audience on edge as the happenings revolved around Prahlad Cha and the entire Panchayat family.
