Popular actress Nora Fatehi has fallen victim to the rising issue of deep fake videos circulating on the Internet.
Taking to her Instagram stories, the actress expressed concern and clarified that the woman featured in a particular video is not her.
Nora shared the video of a clothing brand that utilized her deep fake, showcasing a lookalike promoting a fashion brand with uncanny resemblance to the actress, mimicking everything from her mannerisms to appearance and voice.
Expressing her shock, Nora wrote: “Shocked!! This is not me!” She emphasized the falsehood of the video by labeling it as 'fake' in bold letters. The brand in question has yet to respond to Nora's claims.
This incident comes in the wake of a deep fake video involving actress Rashmika Mandanna from 'Pushpa: The Rise.' The video, featuring a woman in black entering a lift with a face morphed to resemble Rashmika, raised concerns in the Indian entertainment industry.
The primary suspect linked to the deepfake video of Rashmika Mandanna was apprehended by the Delhi Police in Andhra Pradesh over the weekend. The video had manipulated the face of British-Indian influencer Zara Patel, dressed in black workout attire, to resemble the Bollywood actor.
