Nick Jonas concluded his run on the successful Broadway production of The Last Five Years with warmth and gratitude, revealing that his experience as Jamie left him with a "full heart" and a great sense of appreciation.
Looking back on the final performance, Nick uploaded a montage clip and several behind-the-scenes photos onto Instagram.
"We did it. My heart is so full. What a ride this has been," he captioned, expressing his gratitude to the audience for their support during the show's limited run. "I'm so grateful to have been able to play the role of Jamie, and I learned so much in this process."
Nick, in his post, showed profound respect for the production's creative team. He praised director Whitney White for her firm vision and leadership, as well as his co-star Adrienne Warren for her commanding stage presence. "Thanks to @yesimwhitneywhite for your leadership and conviction. Thanks to @adriennelwarren for being such a great collaborator," he mentioned. He also thanked composer and playwright Jason Robert Brown for putting his work in their hands, saying, "and thank you to our producers and everyone behind the scenes."
Looking ahead, Nick hinted at a short break before returning to his busy schedule. "I’m looking forward to a little bit of rest and then it’s right back to work! Can’t wait for tour and the rest of what this year has to hold."
At the same time, Priyanka Chopra, who is currently touring for her next Hollywood action film Heads of State, made a pause to watch the last show. Overcome with emotions during the curtain call, she recorded the standing ovation and posted about her pride in an Instagram Story that was captioned, "Last bow! Congratulations @nickjonas @adriennelwarren."
The clip captured the joyous last moment as Nick and Adrienne basked in the applause of a packed theatre.
The Last Five Years is an innovative musical that follows the five-year relationship between Cathy and Jamie. The narrative follows an unusual format—Jamie's is presented in chronological order, while Cathy's is presented in reverse, providing a beautiful and powerful contrast.
