New Teaser for 'Freedom at Midnight' Released

The series is taken from the celebrated book of Dominique Lapierre and Larry Collins, which eloquently narrates the most crucial moments that define India's independence in 1947.

Freedom at Midnight is a political thriller whose makers have now released a new trailer. The film features Sidhant Gupta as Mahatma Gandhi and Chirag Vohra, with Rajendra Chawla also being part of the venture. The 2nd teaser involved the story of the contrast between Mahatma Gandhi and Muhammad Ali Jinnah in the film, along with others. This film is about a non-cooperation movement set forth by Mahatma Gandhi for Indians against the British government.

Said Nikkhil Advani while giving a statement: "Freedom at Midnight' is a powerful look at one of India's most important moments in history. The show is based on careful research and shows the emotional and political chaos of the time.

It provides a deep insight into key historical figures; every character has developed enough so that the actors can step into their roles. The story of this film is not just politics but also deals with human experiences, emotions, and challenges which formed an era and had a long-lasting influence on the nation.

Earlier, actor Sidhant Gupta, who will be essaying the role of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in the series, shared his thoughts on his role and how it has deeply impacted his life. Sidhant said, "Independence for me is not just freedom but a feeling of courage. We are all Independent enough to own our dreams if we choose to," said Sidhant, for Independence Day now holds a deeper meaning.

He says, "After filming for six grueling months for 'Freedom at Midnight', I returned to my hometown two weeks ago for a much-needed break. My brother had a new swanky car he had just bought, and we were out driving in the dead of the night. I was crossing the Jammu Tawi bridge when I noticed this gigantic Indian flag wafting precariously in the wind".

"I told my brother, "I think I am getting emotional seeing the flag". He laughed and said, "I think you have been in the character for far too long". I smiled to myself thinking that "I hope this feeling will stay within me forever", " said Sidhant concluding.

The cast features Sidhant Gupta, Chirag Vohra, Rajendra Chawla, Luke McGibney, Cordelia Bugeja, Arif Zakaria, Ira Dubey, Malishka Mendonsa, Rajesh Kumar, K.C. Shankar, Alistair Findlay, Richard Teverson, and Andrew Cullum in important roles.

The show is produced by Monisha Advani & Madhu Bhojwani under the banner of Emmay Entertainment in association with StudioNext. Nikkhil Advani is the director of the show. The initial work for the narrative has been done by Abhinandan Gupta, Adwitiya Kareng Das, Gundeep Kaur, Divya Nidhi Sharma, Revanta Sarabhai, and Ethan Taylor.

'Freedom at Midnight' is all set for streaming, and it'll soon come on the Sony LIV streaming portal.
