Netflix India Unveils 2024 Content Slate Including 'IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack' and 'Heeramandi

Netflix India has announced its ambitious slate for the upcoming year, featuring a diverse range of over 22 projects spanning movies, web series, unscripted shows, and documentaries. The lineup includes highly anticipated titles such as "IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack," "Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar" by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Imtiaz Ali’s film on the legendary Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila, and the Oscar-nominated documentary "To Kill A Tiger."

Another significant project unveiled by Netflix is "IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack," which delves into the true story of the 1999 Indian Airlines flight hijacking. Directed and created by Anubhav Sinha, the series aims to provide a comprehensive and authentic portrayal of the incident, featuring a stellar ensemble cast.

The event also offered a glimpse into several other exciting projects, including collaborations with Yash Raj Films’ digital arm YRF Entertainment, such as the web series “Mandala Murders” and films “Maharaj” and “Vijay 69.” Additionally, first looks of various films and series like “Amar Singh Chamkila,” “Do Patti” starring Kajol and Kriti Sanon, and “Dabba Cartel” produced by Farhan Akhtar were revealed, generating considerable buzz among audiences.

Dosanjh's role in "Amar Singh Chamkila," directed by Imtiaz Ali, reflects the actor's initial skepticism and eventual enthusiasm for the project, while Rahman expressed his delight at composing music for a film with Punjabi roots. Actress Kriti Sanon also shared her excitement about making her production debut with “Do Patti,” emphasizing her desire to explore diverse storytelling avenues beyond acting.
