After Mahabharat actor Mukesh Khanna came under flak for his "distasteful" comments regarding Sonakshi Sinha's upbringing, the actress has found her voice now, clarifying that he never tried to "malign" her.
Taking to his Instagram stories, Khanna penned a lengthy note where he shared his surprise at the delayed reaction, saying, he had no malicious intent towards her or her father Shatrughan Sinha, who is a senior of him, and with whom he shares a cordial relationship.
In his post Mukesh wrote, "Dear Sonakshi, I was surprised you took so long to react. I must say that I knew, by taking your name on that incident in the famous Kaun Banega Karodpati show, I am antagonizing you. Well, let me tell you that I had no intentions to malign you or your father whom I consider my senior; I have a very cordial relationship with him."
The actor added, "My only intention was to react on today's generation, which is called 'Genz' by elders, which has become slaves to today's Google world and mobile phones. Their knowledge is limited to Wikipedia and social interactions on Youtube. And here I had a Hi-Fi case in front of me of yours which I could use to teach others. Fathers, sons, daughters.". To tell them we have huge and vast knowledge preserved in our culture, Sanskriti, and History which every young lad of today should know, not just know but should be proud of it as well. That's it."
Khanna concluded stating: And yes, I regret that I talked about it more than one interviews with me. Point noted. Won't be repeated, so take care.
Recently, Shatrughan Sinha came out in defense of his daughter, Sonakshi, after an oral attack from Mukesh Khanna. Sonakshi reacted sharply to the critical comments of Mukesh Khanna over her upbringing by the Sinha family. Now, Shatrughan condemned the statement made by Khanna and questioned his intentions.
For the uninitiated, it all began when Mukesh Khanna, in a candid interview, slammed Sonakshi over a former appearance on "Kaun Banega Crorepati," wherein she could not reply to a question about Ramayana. In an open letter, the actress addressed him. Now, Shatrughan Sinha too has joined the bandwagon and condemned the comments.
