Michael B. Jordan has shared that the script for the sequel to 'I Am Legend 2' is under preparation and that he is really excited to share the screen with Hollywood icon Will Smith in this one.
The sequel to the 2007 megahit starring Will Smith was announced in March 2022. The sequel was announced with its lead star, Smith, returning in his role, and joining him was newcomer Jordan. Speaking to people.com, Jordan said, "We're still fine-tuning the script to ensure it meets our expectations." He added, "There's no fixed release date yet, and the filming location is yet to be determined. Nevertheless, the prospect of collaborating with Will Smith excites me immensely."
Will is one of the people Jordan holds in high esteem, and he says, "Will has been a role model for me for a long time. Working alongside him is an opportunity I eagerly await." This is reported by variety.com.
Directed by Francis Lawrence, the original "I Am Legend" depicts Smith as virologist Robert Neville, who is the only survivor in post-apocalyptic New York City after a man-made plague. Neville's quest for a cure leads him to encounter other survivors. Smith, earlier this year, teased the idea of adopting the alternate ending of his 2007 movie in 'I Am Legend 2,' where his character survives.
Meanwhile, Jordan is preparing for his next feature with 'Fruitvale Station,' 'Creed,' and 'Black Panther' filmmaker Ryan Coogler.
