Margot Robbie Partners on 'Barbie' Fashion Book Collaboration

The collaboration, aptly named 'Barbie: The World Tour,' was unveiled on Instagram and is scheduled to hit bookshelves on March 8.

Hollywood sensation Margot Robbie has teamed up with her stylist, Andrew Mukamal, for an exciting project – a forthcoming 'Barbie' fashion book. The 33-year-old actress, renowned for her portrayal of the iconic blonde doll in Greta Gerwig's blockbuster 'Barbie' film, joined forces with Mukamal to document the fashion highlights of the 'Barbie' movie's press tour.

The collaboration, aptly named 'Barbie: The World Tour,' was unveiled on Instagram and is scheduled to hit bookshelves on March 8. Interestingly, this release date is just two days before the Oscars, where Robbie was unfortunately overlooked for a Best Actress nomination in the 2024 Oscars nominees announcement on January 23.

The book's cover features Robbie donning a pink tweed Chanel skirt suit and a sequined top, striking a doll-like pose surrounded by pink Chanel bags and accessories. Mukamal, the creative force behind all of Margot's dazzling looks during the 'Barbie' press tour, shared that the idea for the book originated in his living room while envisioning Margot's wardrobe for the March 2023 press tour.

'Barbie: World Tour' captures the essence of Margot's living doll outfits, including unseen looks due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike that cut the press tour short. Renowned fashion photographer Craig McDean lent his expertise to capture the stunning images within the book.

A unique aspect of the publication is the inclusion of handwritten contributions from the designers responsible for the looks, alongside a glimpse into a "treasure trove" of "rare" materials from Mattel's Barbie fashion archives. Mukamal expressed his surprise at the book's rapid development, describing it as a "once in a lifetime project" and a "labour of love" dedicated to Barbie enthusiasts and fashion aficionados worldwide.

Despite Robbie's absence from the Best Actress Oscar nominations, Greta Gerwig's 'Barbie' film secured recognition in various categories, including Best Picture and Best Costumes. Notably, one of the nominations acknowledges Margot's role as a producer on the film, adding another layer of accomplishment to this cinematic venture.
